MX3 rubber window trim question (Repainting my MX3)

Post by Juans_93_MX3 »

I am in the process of repainting my MX3 and would like to remove all the window trimming (not weather stripping but the trim that goes around the window) off of the rear hatch and two doors.
I don't know much about window trim, but I have seen universal trim online. What do you guys think of universal trim?

I want the job to be perfect tho so I think taking it off will be a better idea.
If its not damaged I can probably put it back on.

Now, the rear hatch rubber trimming is a big concern. I would hate to have to remove the glass on the hatch just to replace the trim.

go to the hardware store and buy some weed wacker wire and run that just underneith the rubber edge, then tape off the rest. It will allow you enough room to be able to blend the paint underneath the rubber trim. side windows is very easy to take off.
