Re: Sleeper6's Gold 92GS Rebuild opinions wanted!
Oil Pump is officially off the car, taking it to work to remove the inspection plate and check out the gears tomorrow, here hoping for carnage on the inside.

Re: Sleeper6's Gold 92GS ..confused...
So pulled the oil pump and the inspection plate. Confusing part, its perfect from what we can see. Ordered a new pump just in case and plan on running a wire along the feed to the oil pressure sender to make sure theres no blockage.
I am really confused at this point, 0 Psi and there is nothing inside that indicates catastraphic failure... And Im positive on the oil pressure with a mechanical gauge new sender and audible engine noise after starting it now for the 6th time since the light came on.

In that case, I would pull down the bottom of the rod caps and inspect each one, same with the mains. If you have bearing failure you will loose all oil pressure even though the pump is working.
If they are fine you can torque them back into place with no issues just don't pull the bearing out of the caps if you don't have to.

Re: Sleeper6's Gold 92GS ..confused...
Pretty sure your right, now with everything off and put back together I have side to side movement on my connecting rods. Thinking thats the problem so going to set time to pull the bottom end apart.Josh wrote:In that case, I would pull down the bottom of the rod caps and inspect each one, same with the mains. Re: Sleeper6's Gold 92GS bad bearings
I <3 PT.
After some long talks and pms back and forth with some PT members about kl internals I was convinced to put oil in and fire her up, glad I did! 62psi at first start and she runs at about 30psi idling at 800-1200 and up to 50 psi cruising. Needless to say shes back together, Oil pressure guage is now mounted in cabin and I have a few more KL points then I did to start with!

^What a KL looks like sans oil pump and pan

^just an awesome pic to me

^Guessing this motor hasnt had an easy life from the looks of the internals...
VIDEO LINK BELOW

Small video of what scared the bijesus out of me when I was about to put the oil pump in for anyone wanting a refrence

^Alien landing site. heh no just all the bits that came off in process, strainer had no bits inside thankfully so all is good for now.
So in other news headed to a jy tomorrow to hopefully score a G4 intake and VCs!

Re: Sleeper6's Gold 92GS Its alive! again!
So after messing around a bit I have my Gauges set up how I like, although soon as the budget picks up Ild like to swap out the sunpro for an autometer unit.

Also did some basic maint. to the car as well, feeling like it was running a bit rich so I swapped out my 200k mile O2 sensors for some new ones. Looks like the back bank was running a tad rich lol.

And I sorted out a small vac leak from my canister to the 1st VRIS solenoid connection that had come loose. Hopefully Ill have a G4 intake/VC combo soon so I can redo them permanently in some proper quality hose.

Re: Sleeper6's Gold 92GS interior gauge/sensors
Glad to hear all is well. I am going on vacation next week and will be back April 16. We will have to get together for a cruise when I get back.

Anyhow swapped my winter tires over today back to my summer treads. I feel bad for having a tech inspect my car the other week as I found my rh ball joint is about to fall out when I did the swap over

Re: Sleeper6's Gold 92GS interior gauge/sensors
Tried to do some regular maint. after getting home from easter dinner. I sat out in the rain to get it all apart as my rh ball joint had about 1/4" of play and I didnt feel comfortable taking her to work that way, so I had picked up a new one from autozone sat. Well after dropping it out in 2 pieces (it shattered in my hands at the socket) the replacement was the 93+ fat design
