I'm putting together my work log for my soon-to-be-daily-driven KLZE, currently a project car. I am looking to get the most from the KLZE without heavy modification and fabrication. I am looking for reliability and drivability on a daily basis. She will not see any track time or forced induction (well at least not for a while). The best bang for the buck always helps! If you happen to stumble across this log and have any suggestions, feel free to leave some feedback. The more the merrier! In the meantime, I'll be looking over other's work logs to get some ideas. Thanks.
***This log will be edited as many times as necessary to help me complete my project by March 2013***

as far as a clutch is concerned... Clutchmasters I hear is definitely teh way to go. I am going with stage 0 or 1. they also make a fantastic flywheel as well, that you can purchase in a bundle. They are recommended over ACT clutches for our setups.
You can also use the K8 flywheel for a lighter weight and cheaper price probably

Intake Manifold: If you're getting a true ZE it will have KL31 stamped cams and heads. The intake manifold will be a straight neck. The straight neck is the best intake for performance however won't fit. it'll hit against your brake booster and needs to be modified. Even when modified you'll run the risk of brake failure. No bueno.
Some people run the Millenia intake manifold which is curve necked, and has no fitment issues... however isn't OPTIMAL performance. VRIS points are off a bit depends on what ECU you run.
the best fitment is the millenia intake. The best fitment/reliability (aka it won't have a chance of killing you) would be the millenia intake with a custom mapped ECU.
The best performance is the straightneck with a KL36 ECU I would assume (they match)
The most common setup is millennia/KL36 combo. Can also use probinator chipped KL or K8 ECU.

I will defitinly consider the millennia/KL36 combo. I know a probinator chip is getting harder to find these days. What about the Xtremethings.com chip?SuperK wrote:The most common setup is millennia/KL36 combo. Can also use probinator chipped KL or K8 ECU.

brake pads is a bit of a preference. I swear by brembo. I upgraded to their slotted rotors on my RS and MAN did it stop. Depends on durability/stopping power. the slotted will offer more bite, but it will also wear your pads down quicker. I went with ceramic pads for durability/less dust, Akebono brand, and I adored the setup. I'll be using that again.
