Anyone tried the Riken's Z Raptor ZR RF BSW tire

Post by Daninski »

I saw these but there's very little write up about them. Tread design looks nice and the price is definitely acceptable.

i had a set of these rubbers on 17in enkeis not too long ago, on my mx and within a few weeks i had blown three of them. Now its just my oppinion but on every one of them that blew it was the sidewall that gave out, and when i put them on i had them balanced and an alignment done. So i just dont know. I didnt have much luck with them but then again i dont with a lot of tire brand. In the end its your choice, would i run them again, prolly not.

i had these on my protege, 205/50r17 i was actually pretty surprised how nice they were.

protege was a 2.0t 5speed that i drove extremely hard, tires gripped well, braking was good. tires survived 2 accidents that involved lockup. i sold the car to a friend who rebuilt it and has put roughly another 25-30 thousand km's and i saw him yesterday and tires were gonna be replaced next season with roughly 2/32 of tread left at approx 40-45 total km's of total life.

pretty decent tire if you ask me

Your best bet is to go to Discount tire and read some reviews. I've seen that it has treadwear of only 300, so I don't see it lasting more than 30K if that, pretty soft tire imo

30k eh, so even thought they're cheap to buy you pay for them in lost mileage.

It's my opinion, I guess they might last less/more depending on weight of car, driving habits, etc. Best bet is to read reviews on their site (Discount tire) I know they will prorate tires if they get worn out before warranty expires and they will give you percentage off of new set of tires.
