Post by john1983 »

when i got my MX-3 i had some of my work cut out for me like allready having 2 full sets of rims body kit and carbon fiber hood. only problem is the person who installed all the cosmetics half a**ed it but back to my question about my hood is there a way to get that nice clean look back the carbon fiber is badly weathered

ok thats what i was thinkin i had to do i figured i would have to give it a ligth sand/or good buff then probably a new clear coat wasnt sure if maybe there was some wonder solution out there to do it lol kinda like the stuff you can get to clear the haze away from old head light lens' now im wondering if it would just be cheaper to simply buy a new hood im not the best when it comes to paint especially when i dont have a shop or nothing to keep it away from the elements while wet

from what ive read its extremely hard to get good results reclearing it yourself. most people reccomend paying a professional to do it  . for a temporary fix ive herd rubbing oil on it will make it look normal for a short time...

Get a quart of Omni clear w/activator. Go to harbor freight, pick up a $15 purple spray gun. You can get it done without paying whole lot

Or you could sell the hood to me, and use the money to go toward buying yourself a new one  Just a thought...
