oh wow - I'm sorry to hear this! I'll keep an eye out as I'm driving around...

how on earth did they steal it? They towed it away? wasn't the battery dead or something?

We could keep an eye out on craigslist too...

Mark,

I've been keeping better care of the battery. I've been keeping the battery out of the car, and putting it on the charger every couple of months. I had it on the road the other day -- took it to the DEQ, drove it around, let my step son drive it to school a couple of times. Anyway, I didn't remove the battery again. The car was recovered by the Portland police, and it was delivered by the towing company this morning about 1:30. See the thread under General mx3 forum for more info on condition. They used a screwdriver or such to force the ignition key to turn. Then they drove away in it. Makes me think that an electronic key would be better. My old Sentra had an anti theft electronic key that prevented operation if the "key" were removed. I think that, and a start button is all that would be necessary.

It will be a while before I can drive it again. I've never replaced an ignition key set before... Might take a while... Or maybe not. I know a few jy that have mx3 in the PDX area.
