Vibration at lower speeds - Please read
So, heres the scoup.
I have a mad vibration, from 2nd-4th gear, usually between 30-80km/h. VERY annoying, the whole front end of the car shakes.. It rattles my dash and everything. It feels like wheels that have no balance on the highway. The steering wheel shakes, the car shakes its annoying as hell.
Some things to consider:
My last MX did the EXACT same thing, but not AS bad, but still there
I have changed both cv axles for new axles, not remans.
Wheels are balanced and not bent
What could cause this? There is only two things that I can think of:
1. Ride height is to low and causing axles to rotate at a uncomfortable angle, hence causing a shake
2. The intermediate shaft may play a role in this? Bad Bearing? I do have a modified 2 bolt Intermediate shaft in there from a 94+ mx3. Last car had a 93 3 bolt INT shaft.
Any ideas? I'd like to fix this for next year.

Never experienced anything like this, but possibly engine mounts?

That's a good thought..
Idk thought, my last mx had filled stockers and the back mount was destroyed after some time. My current setup is awr from and rear 88a... Side mounts are stock as as far as I know in good shape

Seeme to be speed related not RPM so the intermediate shaft shouldn't be the culprit.
You aren't by chance using the same wheels/tires from your other MX are you?

No. I have had 2 sets of 5 spoke rims with different tires on here and 17s and they all shook. Hence me thinking it is ride hieght related. I just haven't had access to a jack lately to adjust the hieght

the reason I asked is because I have never seen anyone else post on here with your problem who has their car lowered.solo_ryder wrote:How low is it? Just a lil lower then stock...

But, there is noone that is as low as me. Except MX3autozam as we are running the same setup. He doesnt seem to have the same issues as I do.

Re: Vibration at lower speeds - Please read
Mm, doubt height is an issue. My car is about 2 turns from the bottom on the GC when at the track and no vibration. I would check on that intermediate shaft. You could have an issue with the trans too...
I would do a suspension "shake-down". Which means literally, jack the car up and secure it well with stands. Then start at one place and try and move each suspension part. First the way it should move and then try and make it move in directions it should not move. I have found an issue every time I needed to do a shake-down.

I take back my first statement, Pat's correct. Intermediate shaft could be an issue. Either a bearing with excessive tolerance or the bloody bearing housing is loose from the block. The housing bolt threads are know to corrode.Daninski wrote:Seeme to be speed related not RPM so the intermediate shaft shouldn't be the culprit.
