sunroof may need lubing/cleaning???

Post by onebrickshy »

Hi,
my sunroof needs help when opening, I have to push on it to get it started, and when closing, it needs a little push at the end on one side to close all the way. Do I need to clean it? with what? or lube it? or replace the motor? I didnt' know exactly what forum to put this question in....

I would definitely clean it (tracks) and lube it very well and run it so it will lubricate throughout itself.

clean it with some rags and wd40, spray it liberally along the track and runners then once thats all cleaned out use some silicone based lube spray to grease it all good including all runners and the track and you should be trouble free unless the motors are getting weak.
