believe it or not, the stock k8de bottom end is built pretty tough...forged rods, balanced n forged crank...i do know for certain that a healthy stock k8 can easily handle 6psi. Possibly more, but dont know for certain. All set ups I've seen were built from scratch

Heh, those rods may be forged, but they're not beefy...

They'll handle OK boost, but from what people have said, not much. And your auto trans would probably blow up before the motor did.

never said they're beefy, but puny forged is still better than puny cast...like i said, the best I've seen on stock internals is 6psi...i've heard of higher, but that's just hear-say...but yes, as said earlier, the auto tranny is your main setback...

One of the guys down here ran 14psi daily driven on his K8. If you think about it, K8 rods are about the same thickness as KL rods, but their shorter. That makes them a little stronger in terms of how much psi they can handle. The only problem is they have to run that much extra boost just to catch up to what the KLs make on lower boost. I think he ran a 14.4 on 10-12psi.

see Se7en's work log. I think his psi was in the double digits.. I believe he had 200-250hp on his stock k8 /w turbo.

so if you can pull 250hp out of a stock k8 whats all the hype about doing a ze swap

why not just use the k8...

yeah but se7en's set up was good, he had msns which he knows how to assemble, he had good parts.

When my friend ivan blew his millenia ze, we installed his back up engine, his 7 psi against my 5 psi ze, my ze was way faster, spooled the same turbo faster.

a turbo k8 is still better than a n.a k8 tho ;D

MX-3 w/ curved neck millenia klde, boosted @ 5 psi. /bov and wastegate are good!/ nitto drag radial/ gutted interior/ millenia red top injectors, vortech fmu/aem wideband/ all bolts ons/ Car put together 100% by me. Mechanic? who needs a mechanic? ew.. real men work on their own cars!

Indeed, but it helps if you know what you're doing too.

But I would put money against that a turbo K8 would last a long time, and they're usually up there in miilleage too. Put in a nice, young ZE and you should get another 100-200'000kms out of it...a (non-factory stock) turbo motor will not last 200'000kms
