Overseas Tuning

i am stationed over seas and have my mx-3 here with me. what are some mods i can do that will add some quickness but not need alot of tool time. I do not have a shop to work in nor do i have alot of tools to work with. i have a cold air on the way and i half exhaust and a few other small things. are there any pretty much bolt on mods??

It's hard enough to make the car quicker with proper tools and time. Weight reduction might be your best option. A cold air intake is not necessarily going to make your car quicker, although it may sound more powerful.

Same thing with freeing up your exhaust flow, most of the time you're losing power with these engines. It would take some trial and error to find a custom exhaust that makes your car more powerful.

IMHO, the best simple performance mods you could do to a stock b6 would be stock airbox, stock exhaust, and weight reduction.

Use smaller, lighter rims and tires. Less unsprung weight is a big adantage for faster acceleration.

If you are going to install an aftermarket air intake, be sure that it is of the true cold air style that brings in air from outside the engine bay.

an intake and exhaust will add power.. But it may be less than 10%. On more recent cars... an intake and exhaust will not free up much if any hp. There are little options you can do without adding boost.
