Flywheel milling

Post by Napalm7629 »

I have the means of machining my flywheel in order to save weight, but does anyone know how many thousandths it is good to remove in order to get a noticeable amount of power?

it won't really give you much power but will allow the engine revs to go up quicker. It also gives you less time to change gear before you lose your powerband if you take your foot off the throttle during downshifts.

It will also reduce the amount of low end torque you have as well. You wont be able to shave enough off of your flywheel to notice much of a difference.. go Fidenza or however its spelled.. they have a real light weigh flywheel 8-9 lbs I think. Cheers
