I'm really confused on this one, for I've gone to two different auto shops and both offered me products that made me so skeptical that I ended up having to return them a day later. One place even told me to use brake fluid in my power steering! ... My Chiltons manual gave me two options: one was M-III (which I can't find anywhere at all!) and something only called ATF (which was followed by "Dexron" I think and a roman numeral, but the ATFs around here are not the same roman numeral) ...
What do I really use for Power Steering Fluid?
(ps. my transmission is manual, so that even confused me more that I was given ATF, although exactly: power steering fluid has nothing to do with transmissions!!!!!!)
ATF = Power Steering Fluid ??
ATF = Power Steering Fluid ??

Power steering fluid should be used in the power steering only. No other fluids should be used in the power steering fluid bottle.
Manual transmisions can use ATF Dexron II or III. It is acutally what Mazda recommends, but I don't feel comfortable using it in my manual trans either. I use RedLine manual trans fluid, 75 weight. It costs a bit more, but I'd rather use a quality fluid and have fewer problems.

Thanks Pat. Could you recommend me an online store either independent or on eBay that sells auto goods including power steering fluid, because it seems not even my local Lordco or Canadian Tire have a clue what their talking about sometimes. I've been in need of actual car parts like a rear oxygen sensor and maybe brake-pads soon, so I've been interested in giving business to http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/ because their product descriptions are more elaborate than other sites, but still wonder if there is a Canadian online parts dealer at all ...

Don't know of any parts store in Canada, but I'm sure a post in the Canadian section would get you some answers.

Wow. shipping parts in from the USA will murder me
I placed my order with Autopartswarehouse.com, and turns out the shipping for one rear oxygen sensor for my v6 will be about $83 in shipping !!!!! double their website's 'automatic estimator.' But this is just an estimate. it can either go up and down, that is after I fax a copy of my Visa card which will begin the order ...
please, someone refer me to a Canadian Online Car Parts Seller !!!
(I posted this all on the Canadian forums but no replies for 3 days now ...... so that means there ... there isn't one ??)
