HIDS burn at an intense level, heat an be an issue if the plastic is sub par. You can buy HID ready Civic projectors, but they will be expensive. Cheap kits are usually not real HI, but rather a colored bulb or maybe Xenon gas filled.
You can build a HID kit using balasts and bulbs and attach that to a Civic housing, but you'll have to guess as to whether the housing will hold up to the heat. Make sure to get a Civic kit that uses better than H4 bulbs. H4 is a fog light bulb not a headlamp bulb and thus the extra heat will surely melt something.

What about the Helios HID with 6000K lamps? Any info on them with heat issues? Have a local racing shop selling them. It isn't the hi/lo setup though.

Here is the link of a place that sells them. Mind you, I'm looking at a private sale.
