A different sunroof issue

Post by DJ »

Hey, just wondering if anyone knows the solution to having water come out of the 1" gap in the rubber around the sunroof when you open it after it has rained. From searching the forums it sounds like the gap is suppose to be there. Is it Mazdas joke on us by getting water on us when we go around a corner?

What would happen if I plugged that hole up?

Thanks

Hehe, don't know the answer to your question, but those Mazda engineers are some sneaky bastards. I don't know how many times I've got an icy chill of water running down on me after a rainstorm, hehe.

Yeah, and in the very middle of summer that water can be pretty hot as well. I usually try and do a hard turn and get it on my girlfriend instead of myself. hahaha

Mine is in the front as well, although I've never had a water problem... it seals fine in rain storms and I can't remember ever having water come out if I open the sunroof after a rainstorm, but I can't exactly remember if I've ever done that before

I turned the seal around so that the gap faced the rear. That helps, but a good storm and a good turn will still produce a pissing sunroof.

I also used to try and take the first left with alittle extra gas to get it to pee on my GF.

I'd bet you can get a new seal from Mazda and use a seal glue to get it to stop taking on water.
