I just got a 1993 automatic (wished it was a manual)
I am suspecting the tranny may be failing. it seems to "drag" at about 60- 70mph. What are the signs of a failing transmission?

Hard to say from that description, generally the only warning you get is a flashing hold light. But do the basics, check your fluid levels, colour, smell.
if still no joy, perhaps you could change the filter and check the casing for metal filings etc....
are you sure the problem is from the trans? does it only happen at that speed? what gear is it in..., 2nd, 3rd or o/d?
