Creaking trim
Apologies for this very basic query.
However, the plastic trim around the rear hatchback window of my 10-year old MX-3 is constantly and loudly creaking. It is soooo f###ing annoying!
Has anyone got any tips to fix this before I get the vaseline out (no dirty jokes please).
Any constructive suggestions gratefully received.
kration.

Re: Creaking trim
hi
i had the same problem but i found out it wasnt the plastic trim. when i drove over bumps it squeaked like crazy and i found out its the wood in the trunk the closes off spare tire area. try taking it out and driving and see what happens. all you might need to do is lube the sides up a tiny bit.
92 GS baby rocket red

I had this problem and don't worry in 5 minutes it will be gone, (If you have some electrical tape) Take about 6 inches of black tape and wrap it around the U shaped latch on your hatch, and all will be well. I know the sound seems like its coming from all over the place but nearly everytime this little bit of tape is all it takes.
Good Luck
JG
