B6-ME... Headers' ?!

Post by prototype »

Does anyone know of a company that makes a header for the SOHC 1.6? I know Corksport has the genie header, but I asked them about it and all they said was that they've never tested it because it's not their part.. but from the looks of it, it looks kind of shabby. :/ Well at least not worth that much money, but maybe I'm wrong?

Also, are there any headers out there availible that sorta match up to the exhaust ports on my motor? I can port the header to match up as long as it's close..

Thanks.

Lotta LOTTA talk on this topic over the years but from what I've read, only one available is by http://www.marcor-genie.com./geniepricing.htm which is the same one sold by corksport.

yep thats the only one in production. what the most common thing to do is to buy a ford probe header and cut off the flang and weld on a new one to match up with the B6 block.

or you can just get a gasket and dril the mounting holes onto the flange and a small amount of porting on the outside edges to make it line up

Modding the Probe 2.0L header that way applies to the 1.6 dohc but is it also true for the sohc motor?

BUMP!

I don't think the DOHC exhaus ports are even close to the same alignment as the SOHC, so I don't think the probe 2.0 header will work for the SOHC, but I could definitely be wrong.

Help anyone?
