Ok this is the thing.
I bought an 1993 MX3 precidia from a garage a while ago. It works fine except for the fact that the entire automatic transmission needs to be replaced. The garage said they would fix everything, so they bought a used transmission from somewhere and installed it. THEN the reverse wouldn't work right, so they concluded that the tranny they bought had to be replaced again. Now my MX3 has been sitting there for like a week and when we came today to check up on it, the guy tells us they haven't found any salvage or auto yards near there that carry the tranny that would work with it. So we decided that either we would look for a tranny ourselves or just ask for our money back to get another car.
So we are driving around today and we see a Saturn that is alright. Everythign seems fine and the engine looks good. it was bought at an auction and I haven't been able to get a CarFax on it yet. So we decide we don't want to deal with the MX3 anymore, and when we call the guy to get our money back, he asks us to give him more time to find a tranny because they have lost a lot of money on the car and giving us our money back would set their garage even further back. They have fixed the engine, the moon roof, and the left signal light and bought the tranny that has broken.
I really, REALLY want my MX3. Everytime I see I can practically hear it calling for me to bring it home! But we have been dealing with this car for over a month since we bought it. That is why I am so attached because I feel as if both sides have already put in soo much money and hours that pulling out would be the wrong thing to do. But then also, I have been having to use my moms car to get to work and school for the past couple of weeks. I NEED my own car. I want that MX3 and I need a working AUTO tranny. We're giving the original seller some extra time to find a tranny or else we have to get our money back
Anyone have any tips on what I should do?
I need help...

Re: I need help...
you might want search the atx forum, there are loads of problems with these transmissions, but if you are dead-set on an auto MX-3, then have an atx cooler installed, and make sure the flush out the standard atx oil cooler, it's probably full of metallic debris

I went through the same type of situation that you did kinda, execpt that I knew the tranny was busted up from the start. I had to order a used tranny out of state that had over 128,000 miles on it but the salvage yard I bought it from gave me a 1 month warranty.. (wich isn't much, but it is used) and they have a good reputation for selling good parts.......... that made me feel better about buying it from them.
Hang in there man, because MX's are very unique cars and to this day, they still look almost brand new when taken care of.
