Re: PLZ THIS IS IMPORTANT
I cant say if you will win or not but I have some good tips for getting the best from the K8.
bring a coupple of bags of ice, at the track, un bolt the VAF sensor from the air cleaner housing and remove the air cleaner and the box and just run with the sensor attached to the throttle body(no filter or filter box) if you can attach a CLEAN NEW piece of flexable dryer hose to the end of the sensor and put the other end into the space behind the coolant overflow bottle(the inner fender) this will let the engine breath cooler air(only do this once or twice at the track only, you should always run a filter the rest of the time).
also, with the engine at normal opperating temp, shortly befor you race brake up the ice and put it on top of the intake manifold and between the runners that go to the cylinder head(basicly pile it on top of the engine) this will cool the intake making a little more power for 1 run.
another trick is to disconect the vacume line running to the Fuel Pressure Regulator (make sure you plug the vacume line with a golf tee or small bolt) this will give you max fuel pressure.
this is all you can really do to the engine to make more power. Dont run an air filter, cool the manifold and run max fuel pressure.
remove the spare tire, jack and ALL crap not needed to drive the car from the rear of the car, remove any subs or BOXES, inflate (at the track ONLY) the rear tires ONLY to 45 psi for stock sized tires, 65 for 17 inch tires. leave the fronts set to factory recomended inflation.

The best thing to do is go to the track befor the big race and practice, practice, practice. Guys in mustanges have gotten beaten by stock honda civics because the guy in the civic know how to drive and the guy in the mustang does not.
