The cost depends on the type of springs & struts you get installed. I'm assuming your 1800 Euro amount includes installation. In my case, I paid around/under $750 USD for the parts (including shipping costs) and the labor cost doesn't figure in since I'm doing the install myself. That $750 includes H&R Sport Springs ($190), Tokico HP (Blues) struts ($360), new strut boots and some other bushings/stuff.

That is just one example though. Other US supplier examples (not including shipping costs) could include a set of Ground Control coilover springs @$400, a set of Koni "Red" strut cartridge inserts @$500-$550 - or MazdaSpeed struts @$950. None of those amounts include labor costs to install.

I know someone in the UK who put PI brand lowering springs on their GS model for a 40mm drop with a parts cost (springs only-not the struts) of 103 GBP/$190 USD and they are happy with them. Don't know what the labor would cost over there though. If you get lowering springs, plan to get new performance struts (or Koni inserts) capable of handling the stiffer/higher spring rates or you won't be pleased with the results (you'll bounce around) and your old stock struts will wear out quickly.

Finally, I'd recommend that you find out what that 1800 Euro estimate includes in the way of specific parts/equipment. It could be a reasonable cost depending on just what is getting installed... If you get that info, let us know and ppl here can better judge whether the price seems reasonable.

Well labor is not included just the parts and shipping! all i know is that its Wussow and i think just springs. i'am not really getting the hang on it.see here where i live (bavaria) its very hard ² find any party 4 mazda and almost even impossible to find some parts 4 the mx-3! all i got is a bodykid! even information about what you can do is hard ² get since i not really a pro on that

€1800 is utterly wrong.
You are being ripped of.

Would you mind posting info on what this is that was supposedly this expensive?

I know you can get real coilovers (gewindefahrwerke) for less. K.A.W has them for about €1200, AST for about €1100.

Myself I purchased Koni struts + H&R springs, and that cost me about €700 here in Norway.
As both of these brands are german, you should`nt need to pay any more than me I`d guess.

Agreed. Geez, and that cost was maybe just for springs and no labor cost included. Damn! For that amount of money, I'll buy the springs and struts, fly over with them and install them myself and you'd still save a few euros
