help with a b6t/mx3 tranny fitment prob!! read!!!!!

Post by cjthor »

Hey all,
I was taking a lil closer look at my b6t on the engine stand and it looks like there are a hell of alot less bolt holes on the b6t than on the tranny. Am I missing somethin? The engine has four bolt holes and the tranny has like ummm 10? Not too sure but I know more than that. Any and all help is appreciated. Oh yeah 1994 dohc mx3 and 1986 jspec b6t.

The tranmission was probably made like that so it could be used on a lot of different engines.
But I dont know s--- about 4 cylinder mazdas.
I just know cars in general. Car makers like to use the same part on as many cars as possible. Its cheaper to just change the gear ratios than making 12 different trans mission housings.
Hell the probe is just a re-skinned MX-6(talk about parts sharing).
