My B6T is here....Now a question of wiring........

Post by cjthor »

Hey guys.
I unloaded my engine out of my truck and unwrapped it today. Niiiice..Except for one thing. I heard that the harness was basically the same but I look at this b6t and it has like one large plug..period. Are there any stampings off this thing that I can determine what year this thing is so i can get a wiring diagram and vaccuum routing>? Thanks!

Here is what to do:
Disconnect the entire wiring harness from your new B6T and post it for sale on the GTX egroup. It is useless to you now. You will be using either the stock MX-3 ecu or the Pro LX ecu which will not connect to the new wiring harness, only the MX-3 harness will work.
When you pull your old motor out, swap over the sensors or splice the connectors from the B6T harness to your MX-3 harness so things match up. You will need to do this for the injectors as well. Is your motor a jspec? If so, get the Pro LX injectors or a suitable upgrade as the impedance is wrong on the Jspec model. You need to swap over your disty. Get the MAF from the FC3S.
Send me your email addy and I will send you a vaccum routing diagram.

Hey Maldo,
Thanks for the help. cjthor@hotmail.com is my addy. This engine is a jspec. What one do you have? Also I think i am gonna need a different connector for the throttle sensor. I am gonna use a super afc for fuel management so I am sure that will help a lil. I am also kinda lost on abbreviations. What year rx and is it turbo or non for the maf?
quote:
Originally posted by maldo:
Here is what to do:
Disconnect the entire wiring harness from your new B6T and post it for sale on the GTX egroup. You will need to use the TPS from your MX-3. The MAF is from a non-turbo RX-7, I believe '88-91. You may want to ask Derrick which year specifically works best. You will need different injectors, unless by some fluck you luked out with a set of high impedance ones on your jspec. If you want, I have a set of 230cc Pro LX unit for sale. Depending on your goals, they will last until the motor hits the 184hp area. They work for a good starting point.
My B6T is out of a North American GTX.

Oh well hope you dont mind me buggin ya thru email. Oh yea.. how bout the vaccum diagrams. one more quick thing..The IAC bypass valve? do you use the stock one? http://www.fordfestiva.com/performance/ ... low.htm
thanx for your help chris.

You will use the B6T one, if you look at the MX-3 version, it bolts to the bottom of the throttle body so it is no good. You will have to change the connector on the harness to match up though.
The price for the maf is high. I think you should be able find them much cheaper. No, the vaccum diagram makes it appear to be mounted off the motor but it is right beside the intake manifold. Facing the motor as if it were in your car, to the left of the manifold, just up from the fuel rail is where it should be. There will be a few larger vaccum hoses running through it. It is a part of the BAC system. On mine there is a blue round top that has a connection off the back of it.

Jarid,
I tried sending that info that I promised but your hotmail account is full. The files are kinda big so you might need to get rid of a few things. I will try again later today.
