refinished headlights
refinished headlights
well I finally did it today, it was nice so i got out my sand paper and krylon crystal clear coat. My headlights looked like *** , dull and hardly translusent(cant spell).
Well All i did was clean them, sand with fine sand paper till it was totally smooth, Sprayed on a coat, sand, spray on a coat and so on. Well they arent perfect but they look so much better, if i could have took them off and brought them inside i coulda been more precise. But ya for 10 bucks it looks almost like new headlights.
Keep in mind this is the same thing you are doing when you polish your headlights, except this is permanent.

Re: refinished headlights
ummmmm i cant remember and i cant find the package. It was really fine, I guess you just wanna use common sense, you need a really fine grit that will smooth it out but not put gouges in it.
Re: refinished headlights
probably an 800grit wet/dry sandpaper would be best

Re: refinished headlights
It actually works. I decided what the hell, why not! So I sanded them down with the finest sandpaper I could buy, then I cleaned off all the dust, and after that I sparyed them with the clear coat. And all I got to say is that they turned out really nice. Almost brand new, i'll take some pics and try to get them developed today so I can post them.
Re: refinished headlights
Isnt it awesome!! a permanent solution to those plastic headlights. I love it, it makes my car look new. Glad someone else tried it.
