strut bar on kl-ze

Hi guys,<p>Anyone overhere with the curved neck klze and using a strut bar?
I had to remove mine because it was banging the engine.
Any suggestions?

i've done research on it and I've heard yes it can be done and also no that it can't. I know for a fact the ractive strut bar will not because it was rubbing on my k8 a bit, but what about other brands?

The crappy cheap ones on ebay fit as long as you dont have Pheno spacers. Ive seen it!! So they will fit. Good luck.

i know Darren from ottawa was gonna put spacers under his strut bar to raise it high enough to clear the ms8 manifold

All I know is that my ZE manifold already rubs the hood a bit. Couldnt imagine running phenos or a FSTB...

well I see that luc st-pierre has a corksport one modified a bit to fit over the ms-8 manifold and he looks like he's got good clearance of the manifold and can hopefully close his hood! :p So I know it can be done, question is what kinda modifications are needed to be done to the bar. Will putting spacers under it to lift it up some work?

My Vibrant strut bar has lots of clearance over the manifold and the hood closes, so maybe that one would work for the ZE.

sorry, no, I don't have a digital camera. But I just measured 3/4" clearance at the lowest point. Doesn't sound much but it looks like alot.<p>[ April 15, 2003: Message edited by: jpwmx3 ]</p>

Guys Check out my website.. I got a pic of my strut bar over my KLZE!!.. Hehe It can be done easy.. Just take the strut bar down to a muffler shop and if they know what they are doing when it comes to making custom exhaust, all they got to do is put a slight bend in a section of it and it clears everything.. I rubbs the hood alittle but closes just fine.. Click on the link and goto pics.. Check it out hehe

I have a reactive on with a straight neck ze IM with the mounts cut to tilt the motor forward 1/4" clearence.

The bend was very little.. So I doubt it will hurt it.. Now cutting mounts??? hmmm that doesn't sound good... hehe
