stereo dummie question

Post by drew »

I will be the first to admit I have spent 0 time and $ on stereo equip. so please dont' flame me. I have an ipod I currently use with a wireless FM transmitter. Do the stock stereo/cassette players have an aux. input in the back? Just wondered if someone could give a quick answer before I go pulling things out to take a look.
Thanks,
Drew

Most likly not...so you need an aftermarket deck that supports it

Most pioneer decks have an IP Bus input. With that, all you need is to get the aux audio input box, plug it into the ip bus on the deck. The AUX Box uses RCA inputs, but you can get mini-jack (headphone jack) to RCA audio cables for under $10. Plug your ipod into there and enjoy beautiful sound. I use that setup for my CarPC's audio

I belive that some JVC decks have a mini-jack input directly on the front of the deck for that exact purpose...i dont know which models so and dont have it, so you'll have look into it

Any Pioneer IPBus, or any Alpine Ai-Net decks have optional boxes to get an aux input on them. Some higher-end Clarion decks will have RCA pigtails already in back.
