really cool idea for sub
Hey I saw a mx3 with a sub in the back that was flush with the floor. He took out his spare tire and but a sub there in it's place. I was just wondering if anyone has done, what material you used to do it, how does it sound, what kind of sub? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
This is the link to the pics
members.tripod.com/mx3gsr/Interior.html

Re: really cool idea for sub
My brother didi this with his car. He used aluminum foil on the bottom of the trunk and then lined the foil with fiberglass strips and when it dried he did it two more times. He then pulled it out and took the foil off and measured the dimensions of the trunk. He made a support out of wood for the top part of the enclosure and lined it up to sit on the part where the back cover of the trunk sat in. He cut the holes and took some fiberglass and cut the wholes mounted it all together wired and what not then sat it in there. He had three JL Audio Subs with three cheap jensen amps it hit around 152db. Pretty sweet set up!!!

he had 152dbs of static..lol. Not with a jensen kid.
you should have told your brother to just leave the aluminum foil in the trunk, when it got hot he could open the hatch and cook hotdogs. Then he could buy a chilpac amp to power and freeze a small frig. that my friend is customizing!

Re: really cool idea for sub
that is a good idea to flush mount subs in the wheel well. I have 3 alpine type R DVC's in my hatch powered by the alpine mrvf1507, and it isn't unreal to hit 152db because I hit 150.4db with mine. the best way is to use fibre glass and it makes a nice solid box that has a great sound. I am seeling my car so if anybody wants to buy it give me a gingle-- wanghunglow6@hotmail.com
later.
