alarm light install
when installing my alarm system, can i hook up a night racer neon light (found on ebay) to the alarm so when i activate the alarm, the front grill will have the light going back and forth? (maybe even make the woosh woosh sound just like the night rider car? heheh)
because i notice that all alarms have some type of light to show that it's activated....so instead of using that light module, can i use a seperate neon night rider light?

Re: alarm light install
sure you can.. but depending on the duration of the light flashes you may not be able to see the neon for long. Just splice the LED wire to your neon and you can have both if you want

I don't see why not. There are things you can buy from your local Pep boys that looks similar to that. There are also Varad Scanners that may look like what you want. You should check it out.

Re: alarm light install
Dont bother hooking up your led outputs to the neon.. The led has about less than an amp of output..you can blow the alarms led output by doing that.. If you want to hook it up to your neon just take a relay and use the negative output while armed " starterkill output" and hook that wire to pin 85..then you hook up constant power to the pins 86 and 87 then run the pin 30 to the positive input on the transformer for the neon and ground the other side of the transformer and you are done.
Hope this helps
Killermx3
Ontario Certified automotive tech
First Class MECP certified

Re: alarm light install
Hey people,
to answer the question of marsh yes the bumper is oem but I modified it I posted it in appearance forum under custom grill.as for the light set up it's a one piece set up and sorry marsh but not like that cheap one on ebay I got mine oversea's mine fit like a glove i swear it was made for a mx-3.
the pic is a very bad pic when I get a better pic I will post it it was raining that day and the dig cam batt was dead that why kinda blury not to mention that it is a cheap cam and does not have good resolution so you can't even see the grill in the hole's but it's there.if anybody does this mod to their car let me know how ya made out i'd like to see it.I get people all the time that compliment me on it so it was a realy good mod for me.
l8ta
P.S. much thnx to custommx3 for getting the pic on this post for me.

Re: alarm light install
No sorry,
My brother bought them for me he was in the navy he saw them and thought of me so he bought them. All I can tell you is that it is one piece and has a seperatate brain that goes inside the car so you can adjust the speed of the light.
l8ta
