They're OBVIOUSLY from an MX3-- a rusted one at that.

actually I bought them on ebay and they looked nice and then I guess they rusted in my garage.... but the rubber is in excellent shape so I can hit them ...

It goes without saying that if there is a certain amount of angle to the car because of ramps or jack-stands than the fluid fill line marking will have to be fudged to account for the cars angle. But then you knew that anyways.
BTW, I used the traditional fill hole in the front using clear tubing ...

1. little to no feedback to ECU on mixture (ie: usually rich) so it runs open loop (preset fuel maps based on TPS, EGT, VAF/VAT and MAP sensors)

I would try the Auto-RX clean, if you think that your consumption is related to rings or seals. If you just have a ton of mechnical wear it will not help.
