Does it get uncomfortably hot in the passenger cabin? Partial stoppage somewhere,... let's not rule out a core issue.
Check your water pump too.
Lot's of things. Mine was the Tstat.

Thanks folks but,...
I just found out I will be on the road quite often this year; or rather in the air flying all over the country. I'll be flying to Canada too.
So I won't have the time to do the swap this summer, or possibly the rest of the year. I have a lot of GPS hardware/software to sell and clients to teach how ...

You have five grand, roughly, and want to do the engine swap
but leave the outside of the car pretty much untouched... except for some cosmetic damage and the like. Maybe do some minor suspension work; a little stiffer.
I want to leave the car as close to looking stock as possible on the outside while leaving the surprise of bountiful power and better grip ...

I'm far from being a mechanic. Maybe I should have said the same "type" of configuration, mounting whatever. In fact, I was using his words.
I had considered fixing up this car to keep it awhile and thought it was possible. I've decided against that now; too much work.

Some may say this is a stupid thread but for anybody who is in the climate I am, ans AWD MX-3 GS is a dream. I think it'd be great.
Thanks to all that offered information about this change, and since I am considering the KLZE and there is a chance that it has AWD ability, I will give it another ...

Wow!
Thanks folks!
I looked up a few things about the MazdaSpeed 6 AWD 2.3 turbo. It's due as a 2006 model with 274 horsepower and I forgot how much torque. Looks like it's targeting the 2.5 turboed Legacy. That will be a tough contest.
Now, imagine if they'd put that engine into a Mazda 3 ...

Nasty rumour, is it true, KLZE sized 3.0 J-spec 310bhp f
Does anybody know about this?
I talked to an avid MX-3 fanatic in Havre Montana, USA. He said there's a J-spec 3.0, with 310bhp, and the same dimensions as the KLZE that will adapt to the MX-3's motor bay the same way as the KLZE.
He said it's in the new 6's in Japan.

I have had the same results as Barry Clark with my stock MX-3.<p>The only advantage I really have over a lot of drivers on this continent is I learned to drive in Germany.<p>I drove my MX-3 in Germany, and I liked it so much I sent it back to Montana.<p>When it hits 150,000 miles I'm going to pay ...

I can hit about 32 or 33 mph in first right at 7000 rpm, second allows me about 65.<p>I do this with 205/55 16s but I have some kind of really great grabbing Cooper tires.<p>I don't do this very often, just when I get a wild hair. You're correct, it's the HLA.<P>It's expensive to have done by itself but you can have it taken care of during your next timing belt change.<P>Getting to the HLA (Hydraulic Lifters *dunno what the "A" is for Adjusters(?)*)requires removal of the timing belt.<P>Sorry, that's probably not what you ...

Re: 92 gs engine light
Have your EGR Valve checked. Mine did the same thing. About the moisture, if you let it dry very well, no worries. When my EGR Valve clogged-up, that darn light came on.<P>The error code you're looking for is 16. If your error code reads 16, chances are it's your EGR.
