It's still just a tempting idea. I do have a love of rear wheel drive cars, and buying a BMW 635csi is high on my list of wants :D

Yes it's a Nissan Silva. Here we call it the 200sx. It's a 2.0 litre 16valve turbo. 197bhp as standard, but I've tuned it, and it now make 285bhp. I've also fitted Nismo suspension and 17'' x 8'' wheels at the front, 17'' x 9'' rear.

Just to update I didnt go for the TVR, I couldnt find one that was clean enough for the money I had to spend, and there was always going to be the 'what if it breaks??' worry!

So I bought this about 3 months ago. It was standard when I bought it, but now the handling and brakes are sorted :wink ...

Re: Timing belt and waterpump changed=engine vibration at id

Sounds like the cam timing is at least one tooth out. The cam belt being too tight will not make the engine vibrate. Take it back to the garage and get them to set it correctly.

Re: What´s the best way to separate pistons from rods?

I stand corrected. If the gudgeon pin is pressed into the conrod, then clearly heating the piston will have zero effect. As has already been said, the easist way is to have them pressed out. The titanium conrods we use at work have a bearing surface in the small end, to match with the gudgeon pin ...

Re: What´s the best way to separate pistons from rods?

Get a frying pan, heat it up and place the top face of the piston on the frying pan, and allow the piston to heat up. Dont allow it to get too hot. This will make the pistion expand, and allow the gudgeon pin to slide out. I work at an engine building factory, and this is the method we use, apart ...

Re: Shell Optimax

I've filled my V6 up with it many times and never had any problems, cant say it runs any better though. I fill my Ducati with it when ever possible, as it runs smother on Optimax and tends to stall less.
