Re: what size speakers are in your doors??
6.5 fits perfectly. Some people say that 5.25 are the right fit , but I don't know where they got that info from because they definately are too small.<P>You can get almost any 6.5 you want if you make a spacer so that the window doesn't hit the magnet. I made spacers from .5" thick MDF and there ...

Re: Extra Speakers??
You can get them made easily. My friend installs stereo equipment and will do them for me for 100$. If you go to a shop I'm sure it would be more than that, don't know how much more though.

Re: speakers
If the spekers magnet goes too far back, which is likely if you get quality speakers, then you can always install a spacer. As for quality speakers, there are a lot of different good brands. Diamond, Focal, MB Quartz, Kicker, etc. I have Focal 6.5" PolyKevlars, they sound really great, but the ...

Re: subs don't sound good
I agree with geezer. Your subs are most likely out of phase. Just switch the wires on one like geezer said.

Re: Component Speakers in door
As I said, the magnet did hit the window , but after I installed the spacers the window clears just fine. Probably this week I'm going to have a custom kick panel made to house the focal mids and tweets. As it is now the left tweeter is WAY too close to my ears to create a good sound stage. I'll let ...

Re: Component Speakers in door
Sorry I haven't replied. I've been away for a while. At first I was concerned that the foam surrounds would touch the grill, but it hasn't been a problem at all. I don't know how much bigger you could safely go than .5" spacer. Probably about .75" I would guess. And about the Focals, man if you can ...

Re: STOCK SPEAKER REPLACEMENTS??
LOL. Crutchfield not only doesn't have everything. They almost have nothing. In terms of high end speakers for home and car they are not the place to go. As for the fronts, don't worry about the depth. If it doesn't fit properly just have some spacers made from MDF, works like a charm. I have ...

I agree about the placement of the rear speakers. Not at all aftermarket friendly.

Re: Opinion on Speakers - Mount 2-way in the front and 2 sub
I knew someone would mention a home theater sub. Those are specifically made to produce low bass notes. That comparison is irrelevant when talking about car speakers. Any 6.5" speaker made for a car is designed to produced , at best, upper bass notes on up through the midrange . A true subwoofer ...

Re: Opinion on Speakers - Mount 2-way in the front and 2 sub
If you don't have a lot of money get a 8" sub with a cheap amp in a ported box. As far as the 2 6.5 inch subwoofers, there is no such thing as a 6.5" sub. A speaker that size could never even come close to reaching true sub frequencies. It just couldn't move enough air. I don't know your money ...

He said he only has 51$. Get a kit d00d, they work fine. I got a StreetWires kit and I have no complaints.
