Re: PLEASE HELP (ProtogeSTS)
Question for all you suspension buffs out there. Alot of cars actually handle worse if they're dropped too low. The control arm angles end up too steep forcing the control arm to move more lateral as opposed to the more "vertical" motion that's required. The VW"s are very bad for this...if they drop ...

Re: Thumbs up for these tires
I just put a couple of the new Cooper Zeon 2XS tires on mine. On the ride home they seem to hold on to corners very well. Still plenty streetable but much stiffer sidewalls than the Toyo Proxies I pulled off. They're s'posed to clear water well but will be useless in snow. It's stil a bit early yet ...

No Shiat...I was just thinking this same thing. I'm about to do a K8 to KL swap hopefully next week. I was looking at the KL heads and wondering if the compression would be better with the K8 heads. I'll be pulling mine off once I get the motor out...I'll cc them then.

Re: Strange Shudder
A few things are different when your engine is cold...idle speed is one major factor, your mount temp is another. I'm not sure how cold the "cold" is that you're refering to but here in Canada, this time of year, your mounts will be hard as rock. If your mounts are worn or you've changed them ...

That nut is torqued (or should be) to 174lbft-235lbft...pretty heavy duty on a good day. The trick that worked well for me was to have someone stand on the brake pedal while I backed the bolt off with a 2ft Johnson Bar. Make sure you use a puncg to lift the indent that locking the nut in place. It's ...

Nope. Pre-96 had OBDI and 96-97 had OBDII...BTW you've got "93 SOHC" listed...you sporting a four cylinder? If you are you'll definately need the ECU from the donor car...and alot of other bits. Take look at my post regarding the "ODB1 - odb2 swap" yesterday...the pit falls are pretty well laid out ...

I always have a prob if I start my GS in cooler weather and shut it down right away...like changing parking spots. When I try to start it again the plugs are soaked. I've tryed the old pedal to the floor while cranking and that seems to work great. I know some NA cars shut down the injectors if ...

Re: Shrill whining sound - ring any bells?
Man...I hear a shrill whining sound around 4000rpm...but I beleive it's that ratty little Civic next to me because I hit that sweet little jump in the torque curve and blew the doors off him!!

ODB1 to ODB2 Swap
Okay, I'm looking to install an ODB2 ECU in my 94 GS. Not for performance, just diagnostics. Anyone, know of any issues with this? So far all I see is some minor differences in tuning. The harness is different but nothing that can't be re-wired.
Anyone ever try this before? Know someone who has ...

Re: Where to mount on engine stand?
I used two tranny mounting holes and the two through holes down on the skirt...no probs so far. The tranny holes are an M12X1.25 or 12mm metric fine thread.
Take a look in forced induction I read something in there about the fuel pump being a strong component and good for turbo...just going off ...

Re: OBD1 / OBD 2
What would be the difference between the two...other than the fact that one is an OBD1 and the other is OBD2. Same power train, sensor etc...presumably near identical mapping. Just curious because I've been doing some research on OBD2 laptop software for doing live diagnostics. I've a pre-OBD 2 94GS ...

Re: Distributor????
I just took my previously crapped out distributor apart. Looking at the cap the firing order would appear to be 123645...going in order counter-clockwise. However if I look in one manual that I have it shows the cap to be numbered differently 123546. In both cases the firing order is still 123456 ...

Re: Distributor????
Custommx3...any thoughts on why the firing order would be different? I'm doing a swap this winter and I was told that my 1.8 distributor would work in the probe 2.5...also, since I was looking to do an MSD swap I should keep an eye out for a KLZE distributor because it made the swap easier. I would ...
