Re: DE swap - Starting issues
Will do. It'll be a few before I get it turned over. Quick fix on the coolant line. Definitely will do brake cleaner tip!

Re: DE swap - Starting issues
Also, with the egr system removed. Will that cause a significant difference in trying to start it? With low 60 degree weather?

Re: DE swap - Starting issues
I've got it sat up now...
I removed the intake manifold....bam... Coolant chilling between both heads. From the fat coolant pipe between the heads, guessing the o-ring is out. Has a four second drip.
Yay yay... Another minor set back, but I'm thankful for the forum and your guys help. I would of ...

Re: DE swap - Starting issues
From the PVC pipe. They were removed and capped with filters. The line that runs off the front valve cover sucks massive air. So I guess I answered myself lol. Its going to be a pain installing it since the intake manifold is almost up to the firewall. Could that really be the issue? What other ...

Re: DE swap - Starting issues
Thank you bornsticky! Plug wires didn't match up with the disty. Now! It fully turns over! But it runs for two seconds, then dies unless throttled hardcore. I've noticed a massive air sucking sound. My friend removed the oil cooler lines from the front and rear valve covers, and put mini air filters ...

DE swap - Starting issues
De motor swap.
Using old K8 parts.
I am getting fuel, spark, and air! When I go to start the car, it will crank fairly strong. Then it starts dying off slowly (crank-crank-crank-stall-pop-crank---crank---crank). I got piston one set to top dead center on combustion side. Tweaked with the disty while ...

Re: De swap- No power
This is a major short circuit. You have either connected the battery backwards or the positive cable from the battery is being grounded. Given that you've blown the main fuse there may be other damage to electronic components. You must find and fix the short first. Trace the positive battery cable ...

Re: De swap- No power
Im sure their correct; neg. is grounded (black/yellow ccable)near the fire wall, and positive is right by the Main fuse box. Every ground I went through and grinded them clean, especially the ones the battery cables lead to... Man.... i'm so lost...So close too lol.

De swap- No power
Motors in, completely bolted and plugged in (minus Ac/Ps/cruise- removed from the bay). Triple checked my entire engine bay, clean all my grounds. The hole nine yards.... I go to but the battery in, cleaned off the terminals, and I attach the ground first. As soon as the positive is connected it ...

V6 aluminum Radiator
I am in the final process of starting up my swapped motor, but I've seen some members with after market all aliminum radiators (non-black), and so now i'm on the hunt for one! I've searched around online and most sites come up with 4cyl radiators. I dont know if they are the same as the V6(demension ...
