What I don't get is how the immobilizer doesn't send a signal to the relay (for the fuel pump) to switch it on, but the relay signal for the starter is working as the car is turning over.
How would you enable the fuel pump? Replace the fuel relay (mounted on the ECU bracket) with one which has a ...

Re: Adaptor To Plug An OBD2 Harness Into An OBD1 ECU
Excellent. Thanks so much for your help.
I see that the empty port on the ECU is for Automatic Trans Models. Shame. Was hoping that I could get down the scrapyard, remove the OBD2 port + cable, then plug it into the empty port on mine, get some detailed data fairly easily. I'd have to fabricate ...

Re: Adaptor To Plug An OBD2 Harness Into An OBD1 ECU
In the UK we've seen a few MX3's like mine, OBD2 ECU, but no OBD2 port to connect to, making you read the diagnostics the old fashioned way. I'd make the data connections straight to the ECU and retrofit the damn thing if I could. On my four port ECU, only three ports are occupied.

Adaptor To Plug An OBD2 Harness Into An OBD1 ECU
I'm looking for a decent diagram to help me make an adaptor to plug an OBD1 ECU into an OBD2 harness.
I've seen that this would be very popular, as it enables everyone with a 1.8 to get a chipped ECU, but can't find a diagram anywhere. All the links I try here are 404'd, all the members claiming to ...

Synopsis is it's a ze into an OBD2 mx3.
Good news / bad news
Ok. So here's the situation after a long day.
We've changed the fuel injectors for replacement parts, and we've got fuel and spark on all cylinders. :)

Marcdh, you hit the nail on the head there.

Re: KLZE OBD2 Swap Help - UK
Ok we've tried all of the steps outlined, so it's that time. Time for a situation update.
The fuel rails are both sending fuel, we have spark on all plugs. Ignition on front three only. The three cylinders at the back of the V6 are not getting any fuel; sparkling clean plugs, no petrol smell. I'd ...

Re: KLZE OBD2 Swap Help - UK
The ECU is a four port 96+ type, the car's model year is listed as late 95 early 96 production from the VIN. The ECU has the OBD2 code label on it - K853 I think, it matched whatever the standard OBD2 label (mentioned around here) is!
Definitely an OBD2 ECU... Just need to find that connector port ...

Re: KLZE OBD2 Swap Help - UK
I've asked my mechanic to call by here, he's the guy doing all the work so he'll be in the know about spark / fuel. I know that the engine has had a spluttering start, but I'm just passing the story on.
As far as the OBD2 connector goes, I've been looking for a chunky black port around the steering ...
