Re: What's this knocking in my MX3?

Does this knocking sound happen if the car is sitting in neutral and you rev the engine. By doing this you will have eliminated the drive train as being responsible. If the knocking occurs when the car is in neutral sitting still then you know that it is in the engine. From there you will have to ...

Congratulations on the birth of your son! May he grow and continue to make you proud.

Take lots of pictures, because they grow so fast. Next thing you know he'll be looking you in the eyes, asking for the car keys!

I know superK is looking for one for you but so far the only ones he's found are not chippable. We checked one Saturday, but again not chippable.

Re: Intermittent loss of power/fuel

You found the exact same thing in your tank as I did in mine. You most likely will find the same thing in the tanks at your local junkyards. You can buy a new tank online thru RockAuto.com. They range in price from $105.-$130.00. Or you can drop your tank and clean it out. I have been told of a type ...

Re: Check Engine Light and Power Loss

You could also have a faulty coolant sensor. I just had to replace this sensor in a 93 I just purchased. The car would run great till it came up to temp, then the CEL would come on. The car would run very rough and even stall out. Codes showed faulty coolant sensor, replaced it and whole problem was ...

Re: Intermittent loss of power/fuel

The TPS is your throttle position sensor. It is located on the throttle body. A little plastic black box with 3 or 4 wires going to it, depending on type of transmission. Yours is most likely a 3 wire as you indicated you have a manual tran.

It could very well be the strainer in the fuel tank ...

Re: fuel pump relay.

It is on mine, even though mine is a 4 banger. It's simple to check , just unplug it and turn on the key and see if you can hear your fuel pump kick in or not. Hope this helps. :)

I have never done business with them. I have done business with RockAuto.com and AutoPartsGiant.com and have had very good experiences with them.

I hope you get things straightened out soon. It's bad enough to have vehicle problems, but it is really angering to be jerked around over the parts you ...

Re: pressure regulator

Forgive me if I am misunderstanding your post, but it sounds by your description like you have a weak or dying battery. If your battery is weak you will not have enough power to run your fuel pump.
