No more MX-3
Well, I no longer have an MX-3. It was hard to let it go, but it was time for a new car. I bought a 2005 Hyundai Tiburon GT. I never thought I would actually buy a Hyundai of all cars, but this thing is sweet and once I drove it I had to buy it. I would have kept the MX-3, but we already have too ...

Also, not all GSs have all those options. I think the only option mine has is A/C. No sunroof, power windows/locks, or even cruise control.

Re: Clutch grinding noise in neutral
Definitely the throw out bearing. Chances are you can still drive it for a while but as the last post said, it could leave you stranded one day. Not to mention, it could cause damage to other parts when it goes. Since you have to take the tranny out, I would just get a whole new clutch kit and ...

Re: Gauges?
Volts and oil pressure for sure since there aren't factory gauges for those. You don't really need a temp gauge since there is a factory gauge for that. If you do plan on boosting in the future, go ahead and put in the boost/vacuum gauge while you are already installing gauges.

Here is your pic:

BTW, when using Photobucket or other photo hosting sites, they provide you with the IMG code, just copy and paste it.

Don't waste your money, all those things do is kill your gas mileage. You won't notice any power increase.

Re: ENGINE PIC ... ?
I suppose it would be possible to make it work, but the time and money needed to do it would not be worth it. The 2.5 Duratec is a Ford motor, not really even related to the KL series V-6s. A KLZE still has more power and would be cheaper and much easier to swap.

Re: Speed sensor or what??
You said the hold light is flashing....get the codes checked. That will maybe start to lead you in the right direction. The hold light is flashing because the computer senses something is wrong with the tranny.

Re: MTX swap, MX3 or MX6 trans to use...
You can use the tranny from any of these as long as its a V-6 model:
MX-3, MX-6, 626, Ford Probe
These all use the same tranny but the MX-6 and 626 have slightly higher gear ratios.
Most of the other parts will need to be from an MX-3.

Re: Speed sensor or what??
The speed sensor will not make it so the car won't move. It may cause the tranny to not shift right but the car would still drive.

Re: is it Possible V6 auto tranny ...
Passenger side is the same, drivers side is not.
You can't just swap parts out of an MTX into an ATX, they are completely different. Even if you could, thats a lot of work just to make a CV shaft fit. At that point, you would just be better off doing a MTX swap.

Re: freight companys
I've never had anything shipped through a freight company, but I'm a driver for a local delivery service here in MN so I have some advice for you.
If you work at a place that has a loading dock or know someone who does, have it shipped there if you can. Most freight companies will charge an extra ...

Not 100% sure but I think they all use the same jack shaft.
The drivers side half shaft is different from auto to manual, but the passenger side is the same.

Re: Is it toast???
I would start there, replace the VSS and see what happens. If the computer doesn't know how fast the car is going, it isn't going to shift right.
Actually, before you buy a new VSS, check the wiring and the plug to make sure its not just a bad connection.
I had a similar problem with a vehicle I ...

Re: Potential Wreck for KL-ZE SWAP!
Clutch and tranny will work, rotors will not because the MX-6 has 5 lugs on each wheel and I am sure the pads are different as well. I am not sure about the springs.
