Hey guys thanks for all your help! But I've had no luck as of yet. As for Scuba Steve.......Yes I have been known as him from time to time . And its good to hear from some of the old gang as well!
All the Best!
PS anyone wanna trade their mx-3 for a protege? HAHA jk I miss mine
Hey Andrew, don't know if you fixed the problem yet, but my 2 cents is maybe the timing and or the fuel injectors getting sloppy.
One of the things I noticed with a clogged cat is that there was a huge delay in acceleration when I punched it, even at lower kms/hr.
That a good Idea Shaun, though people put down the MX-3 tranny alot, they have to remember, as long as they're not beating in it, it lasts pretty long for an import, 120,000miles-190,000kms avg isn't bad. I heard that Chrysler keeps their spare trannies, for the Intrepid, on the shelf?
Hey Shaun, is it just the pump seal, and not the pumpas well? If it's just the seal/ gasket, whatever?... Did you try Mazda? Something like that, to get repaired, I can't see being any more than $300-$350US max. parts&labour. But then again I'm just guessing?
I think you'd be better off keeping it in the car, taking it out just seems like more of a pain in the butt?
Unless in your limited supply of tools you have a disc grinder, then you're set!
good luck!
Hey kuruption
My buddy used to have a yellow IS300 exactly like yours, except his had a rear spoiler. Those triptronic trannys really blow though, he let me take his for a spin, good thing you swapped yours!!!
BTW I think the IS300 only has 215hp max, and a V6?
Wow I can't believe this topic was reopened after so many months! I know I wasn't the first, but possibly one of the first? I know Kevin Gettens has a ZE auto. still? I never did neutral drops with the 2.5L, once with the 1.8L with the old tranny. I'm usually pro auto, but unless you're going to ...
