ok so i took the advice on disconnecting the control arm, and that went ok.
however, now i cant pry the shaft out of the differential. i am using a pry bar. i stick it behind the joint and try to push it but i cant get enough room or anything. any tips? should i buy a pickle fork? what if i just ...

ok, so i can just leave the cv joint attached to the hub assembly, got it.
ill keep yall posted, and come back if i got any more problems

ah, ok i wasn't sure whether the brakes would still work. yea, s---... i might need an impact. this is the first time i have _ever_ done this. im basically just doing everything by sight. are there any special tools i might need along the way? cause all i have is sockets and wrenches.

and i finally got a 1 1/4" socket so i can take off the axle nut/ hub nut. however, when i spin it, it just causes the damned shaft to spin too. how can i prevent the cv shaft from spinning whilst i turn the hub nut? yes, i do have the engine in gear, but that doesnt seem to stop it.

happened again.

this morning, from 1230 to 430 i was trying to start it, and it never worked. 430 comes, then my friend tries it and it works.

i know i have gas because i just added about 2 gallons via a container,

and i do hear the clicking sound and the 'rrrruuu rrruu rrru rrrruuu' of the engine turning over.

but the engine doesnt want to start.

i will attempt to check under the seat for the connectors. thanks

the battery is new, about 3 months old.

its starting to do it again, so i cleaned up the terminals with baking soda. although, the terminals were pretty clean as they were.

it still wont start when i turn the key.

ok so, yesterday this started happening.

i would sit in my car, turn the ignition but the engine wont pick up from the starter. then, i look and see that my fuel gauge is reporting absolutely no fuel. the needle is all the way down. so then i try turning it over, just to see if it would work, and ...

ah thanks. i got a friend that is going to help me out, he has a garage and tools and works on cars, too.

i went to o'reilly, autozone, and napa and they said that they do not have either halfshaft in stock. where can i find both the front and left online? i dont need a performance shaft, just one ...

what does replacing a front left half shaft entail?

does it require that i replace my transmission oil, too?

what all will i need before i do it?

i have never done this before, i know nothing about it, and i know both of my cv joints are fucked.
