Ok first, my setup :

03 Protege5 with Jdm KLDE swap. Modified 96 mx3 harness. KLK1 ecu.

The swap is almost completed but I have no spark.

I do have injector pulse though, so I guess my ECU is fine. I do have Vref also.

I checked my distributor harness for powers and grounds, all fine.

I can get the manifold for free. And I have most of my turbo setup already, just waiting for winter to plant it. I just wanted to know if I could get any benefit from running one of these. I really have to make my n/a setup the fastest possible, I want to do some drag runs and be able to get decent ...

Ok I know the 1.6 SOHC engine from 92-93 mx-3's run a header type exhaust manifold. I have a B5-ZE, it run's a cast exhaust manifold, like the one you would find on a 1.8 SOHC/1.6 DOHC/1.8 DOHC engine. But B6 manifolds bolt to the B5 head.

Would I see any benefit from running one of those tubular ...

Why wouldn't they??

I need the exhaust manifold off an 88-89 GTX.

Or any 1.6 DOHC manifold that my VJ-14 will bolt on.

Looks like a worn out alternator problem to me...

Centrifugal S/C are belt driven T/C... There is too many variables on this topic, do what you like.

My 92 RS was doing it all the time, until I took a prybar and pried the alternator to hell while tightening the bolt. I tought everything would blow up but it never did it again.

Considering the fact I'm using the B6-DE intake manifold, I do have all the solenoids.

So what you suggest is that I block the EGR tubing that goes to the exhaust manifold, and leave the valve there and plugged.

I need to get rid of the EGR. Can I just leave it unplugged? Can I remove the valve and use a blockoff plate? Will the ECU let me run the engine perfectly without the EGR?

Actually, it's a 1% gain for each 10F degree drop. I agree that on 100 hp 4 cyl. 1%=1hp

I know that I bolted the downpipe of a 91 Mazda Protegé GT (1.8 dohc) to my exhaust manifold. So I think it could fit. From there you can use all from the Protegé. I don't know if you have protegés in uk, so I hope this will help.

The hubs are the same.
The axles are different.
The wiring loom under the dash is the same.

The b5 head as you say... is the same as your B6 head. I'd say pop-up your valve cover and check on the cams whats written there. If it still says B5 then you know you have a B5 head. If it's anything else, then forget about the B5 head.
