Make sure your backup light switch is hooked up on your transmission and also check the small female connector on the starter, it might have come loose or be corodded just enough to not run. Worse case scenario you have a crossed wire in there somewhere. I had a hot wire grounded out on my 323 one ...

Call up flyinmiata.com and ask them about the Link ECU. It is an old staple for the miata and the 323GTX, the same car the BPT comes from.

read the code and start replacing. It is most likely the O2 sensor.
