Thanks Tunes, I'll see if next weekend I find the tools to do this, seems pretty straightfoward , in the mean time i'm using a loner. Btw is changing the transmission filter a must or just a do-it-while-im-at-it sort of thing?

A million thanks to you!

Thanks Tunes, I think I found the procedure in the online manual but I think it's rather vague or it's just completely over my head. Anyways, would this repair require taking down the tranny? if so thats way out of my league.

Thanks Tunes, I am definitely bleeding transmission oil , it's leaking from the driver side at the very front of the car, since i'm certain it's leaking fluid should I skip the transmission filter change (although I'm pretty sure I need one) ? ... ....Is there a manual that shows how to check/change ...

Modulated transmission?

Hi all, I have a problem with my car that I think might be transmission related, I have described the problem in my last post in :

http://www.mx-3.com/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?t=48583&start=15

I've been doing a little research and I came upon what is called a vacuum modulator which if faulty could ...

Overdue update:

Thanks everyone for all the help. I haven't posted an update as I was having some personal problems and couldn't deal with the car.

Well here it is , I took the car to a garage and the guy instead of adjusting the AA screw he adjusted another screw on the throttle, I forgot how to ...

Thanks joey, thats it ...should I worry about it? I think one in the front is broken and one in the backside is cracked.

Engine rocks back and forth

I just noted that my engine rocks back and forth when I change gears ...I think something thats keeping it in place might have broken which could be the reason the car shakes quite a bit when the engine is running. Anybody know what might be broken and if I should have it checked out?

when you are driving that would be the tps sensor thatis causing the problems!!!

I think it might be the sensor too, now that I remeber before the idle got adjusted sometimes the car would stall sometimes at low speeds, I had to hit the gas hard so the car would get a boost..I took it to a filthy ...

I would also recommend that you run a bottle of fuel injector cleaner through your next 2 tanks of gas. I would do this before making any idle changes.. if your injectors are gummed up.. you could get random pulses and surges as well as low fuel flow at idle speeds. When I had my fuel injectors ...

try turning down the idle with the idle screw on top of the throttle body...I solved the same problem on my motor by turning the idle screw inwards!!!

Turning it down would help my rpm while in park , but when it's in Drive the rpm dives extremely low and sometimes shuts down and lights some ...

well now besides having a high rpm reading while in park (~1600) , now when I'm driving and the car warms up and I hit the break to make a stop the rpms start to dive and then either shut down or jump back up and keeps doing this. I'm really starting to hate my car.

Look at your intake... (the black platic box where the filter is in)

there is a metal cyclinder between the hose and the intake. Thats the MAF. Acutually the correct term is VAF (Voulume air flow sensor).

Then follow the big fat hose all the way to the metal part. That metal part is the TB ...

Grants wrote:Check your air intake for leaks after the MAF and before the TB. The accordian hose is prone to crack and allow unmetered air into the engine and cause this type of problem.

Good luck with it and welcome to the forum!
Thanks for the reply and Pardon my ignorance but whats the MAF and TB?
