That makes me sick. "Look what I did on my CNC plasma cutting table!" If I had one of those, I would have built a car from scratch by now.
Is there a smiley for "I'm really envious and just pretending to be disgusted"?
Anyway. I got the engine torn down, and discovered severe rust in cylinders 2&3 ...

Wow. I'd certainly like to know what has been done to that motor. Dibs on the head if you're selling it. What are you using for a header? 9.8 is about what I figured with Miata pistons and maximum milling on the head and block. I was just hoping for a 3-digit horsepower number.

Re: Best power Gains
Make sure your Miata cams and pistons come from a manual trans car. The automatic has the same cams and low compression as the MX-3.
If you're looking for a cheap improvement vs an expensive optimization, check out my recent post regarding a header I've found. http://www.mx-3.com/phpBB3/viewtopic ...

Re: Piston, Crank, Rods, and flywheel upgrades. Need help!!!
You'll need the pistons and rods from the DOHC motor.
I'm not sure if the valve reliefs will line up right on the SOHC pistons.
Miata pistons will get you 9.4:1 CR instead of 9.0:1.
I doubt your halfshafts are the weakest point as long as they're in good shape.
The F series diff will probably go ...

All I've got at this point is plans. My plans are for a high-compression normally-aspirated carbureted engine
which will be used for racing only. I don't know what your goals and constraints are.
The header that I plan to use is from either the '02-'06 Mitsubishi Lancer 2.0L (4G94?) or the '97-'02 ...

Re: B6 Headers, etc. - Not a rehash
Here's a quick look at the gasket match on the headers I'm looking at.
The SOHC match. Will require minor porting of the manifold flange, drilling the bottom holes, and a flat bar to clamp across the top.

I'm working on building a B6 SOHC for an autocross project car. Before you say "Get a BP", let me just nip that in the bud: 1) I have a B6-ME in my shed so it costs me nothing, and 2) It's the best engine legal for my car/class (Mazda GLC running EP). Well maybe not the best - the 8v SOHC actually ...

[WTB] '92-'93 RS Engine Harness w/ECU, Left Headlight
I'm looking for the cheapest way to run the B6-ME (SOHC 16V) I'm planning
to swap into my '83 Mazda GLC. A factory harness with ECU would probably
be the easiest way to go. Anybody have a '92-'93 4-cyl full engine harness?
I'm also looking for a good price on a driver's side headlight. Mine was ...

[WTB] Radiator
I'm looking for a good source for a new radiator
or a good used low-mile unit for my '95 RS.
Doesn't matter manual or auto since I have a huge
aftermarket transmission oil cooler.
Thanks for any help.

B6 AT Shifting problems
I've got a '95 RS (B6) automatic with 167k miles on it.
I picked it up cheap, and put a new(er) engine in it.
I'm having problems with the transmission. Here's
what it's doing. It shifts OK from 1st to 2nd, but then
when it comes time to shift to 3rd, it will downshift to
1st instead. Lift the ...

Axles B6 ATX vs MTX
I'm trying to figure something out here, and it
looks from the online parts stores like the B6
MX-3 uses the same left axle whether it has an
auto or manual tranny.
Can anyone verify that? How about the right side?
Thanks
