This whole spam thing is out of control, something has to be done. To start with I suggest putting a halt to any new members for the next two weeks. That may discourage this proliferation.

I've already suggested to have post approval for all new members, but nobody listened and I don't know how to do it-I'm just a mod.

I'll petition Jeff, maybe he can institute something.

The spam on the site has reached Biblical proportions. Can we institute an approval system or some thing where Mods can authorize new members to post. For the interim I suggest we disallow any new members from posting for at least the next couple of weeks till this spam thing blows over.

I agree completely... I just reported the last two spammers about 4 hours ago... It is indeed getting very bad.

On the other hand... it keeps the number of posts a day up
