Ciao!
If your car is newwer than 1996, and you have the software, you can use the computer diagnostic program.

No, that's the Mazda Diagnostics Port, OBDII is a standard, you should have something under the dash that looks like this:

There's probably a 80-90% chance that your car is OBDII. Only the '96s are 100% (mandatory) OBDII

lay on your back on the passanger side floor. Look up and towards the center it should be just past the dash. The idea of the OBD2 port is that it must be able to get at with out removing any trim. Get a flashlight incase you have low light. While you are under there take a look at how many plugs you have in your ecu.. that'll tell ya too.

Both my mx3s are OBDI, 1995 date of registration. You have to remember the car was manufactured, shipped, sat on a forecourt/stored, then sold. Both my '1995' (on the books) were infact manufactured in late 1993.

Your car is most likely OBDI Andrea. If your dash does not have a CEL (check engine light), as UK cars do not, then you need to do this: http://uk-mx3.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1463

It's not just the port, it's the whole computer and the wiring you would need to change. ODBII is the ECU which is a universal standard while OBDI is to each manufacturer.
