heater console

hey this is just a quick question, is this light supposed to stay on even when the heat isnt in use?

Ya. Thats to show you which air you've selected. If you keep it on that one, you will constantly get fresh air into the car even though you have the air off. If you put it on the other one, it will close the vents, and then you won't get air into the car. If you don't believe me, keep it on the fresh air button, and select the upper (face) vents and go driving on the highway. If you lightly push the other one, it makes both buttons pop out and therefore no more light!

lol thnx but the thing is the button in the pic thats lit up is actually "popped out"

that button is to recirc the air in the car... not bring in air.

is there like a malfunction because the light stays on even when none of the buttons are depressed

you button could be broken and the contact is shorting.... do all the buttons operate normally?

i have notice in my local scrap yard their is a electronic heater control unit which is on buttons rather than the slider things, would they swop easy or would their be a lot of work
