You have a Mazda MX-3 GS which is the V6 version of our car. Your car comes with a K8 motor which is a 1.8L V6.

A KLDE a.k.a. KL-03 is the US and Canadian spec 2.5L V6 that came out of a Mazda MX-6 LS, Mazda 626 V6, Probe GT, and Mazda Millenia Base Model. It is 164hp and Millenia versions were 170hp.

A KLZE is the Japanese version of the KLDE. KLZE is 195hp in the curved neck Intake Manifold with KL01 cams and 200hp in the straight neck IM with KL31 cams.

K symbolizes that family of motors, L means its a 2.5L, DE means its US domestic motor and ZE means its Japanese market motor.

Go check out the V6 FAQ in this forum its got all of the info you need.

Why have numbers changed all of a sudded? Both Curved-Neck KL01 and Straight-Neck KL31 10:1 ZE are rated for 198hp, the different is that the powerband is lower with the KL01's, peaking out around 4500pms, while the 31's peak around 5800.

Just to note as well, your KLDE info is spot on ;)
