this is for pepole who have hoods with "real" vents on them. Real meaning that air actual goes through them. my question is, is it hard to keep your engine bay clean since alot of the elements get in there. I'd like to eventually have a nice polished and cleaned up egine w/ a nice vented hood but i wonder how clean i can keep my engine bay with water dirt etc. being able to get in more so than with a stock hood. anyone that has some insight on it help me out. thanks

I have an inverted hood scoop on my CF hood... I belive it's called an invader style or something. Anyways it has a hole right above the front valve cover and headers. Dirt is always getting in on my valve cover and everything else. I had an idea when I first got the hood to glue or epoxy a piece of metal or a clear piece high temp plastic on the inside of the hood slanted down towards the fans that way it would prevent dirt from getting on the valve cover and water would drain in front of the headers instead of on them. Of course I never followed through and now my engine is very dirty. If you still have the stock air intake on your mx-3 that helps because it is directly below the hole although it doesn't look as cool as seeing those beautiful headers
Sorry I have never cleaned my engine in 3 years... not sure about that part... it was a daily driver.
