i have been trying to figure out the best place to mount this thing, and can't decide. there is simply no place on our dash ('96) to put these, and i refuse to put it up on the window. any suggestions, with pics, would be helpful

Are you using a portable one with a cigatette lighter power cord, or is it more a permanent mount?
I couldn't get reception with the antenna anywhere, so I had to stick it to the roof just above the driver windshield. I run the cord through the driver door (weather strip holds it down) nad run the cord on top of my sin visors to hold it up.

top of roof next to windshield dead center is best place for reception, an alternative location is at the rear top of the hatch.

What I'd do for hardwiring one in would be ditch the factory antenna above the driver's door and run the wire where the factory antenna went. Use some silcone underneath to seal the water out of that hole. Once you start satelite radio, you'll never want to tune into regular radio again anyways. The only local channel I listen to anymore that's actually on the airwaves is ESPN Radio, which I get on XM Radio anyways.

the sat antenna end will not fit down the a pillar, only way i could see doing it this way would be to cut the end off and replace it after you run it. only thing is you will not be able to move it afterwards.
