95 automatic at highway speeds

Okay, so I just came back from Montreal, my first road trip of the season (the first of many, I hope!). Had a nice time, discovered (through listening to many French curses) that you can't turn right on red in Quebec like you can in Ontario, stuff like that.
I was also really pleased at how well the MX handles on the highway. Before buying it, I'd reead reviews that made it seem really noisy on the highway, but it seemed fine.
HOWEVER ... one strange thing. Every time I hit 120 kp/h, I'd start to feel (and hear) a shuddering noise. If I accelerated, it got worse.
Everything's standard, no mods. I remember hearing the MX had a problem with the engine mounts ... could this be causing the vibrations? Or is there maybe something about the highway that causes it above a certain speed? No, I guess it's not that, it seemed to happen on different surfaces.
At one point, the "engine check" light came on, scaring the crap out of me. But after I brought it back under 120, everything was fine -- it hasn't come on since.
Any ideas on what's causing this and how I can fix it?
