Alrighty-- Like I said, I was @ Road Atlanta this past weekend and saw a MX-3 Race car!
It was tube-framed with a full fiberglass piece body.
Engine- A De-stroked 1.5L >1.3L Mazda GLC engine. It was putting down 175-185 to the ground.
Yes, I said a GLC engine-- His race crew bult them a long time ago and had them tuned-- so He put it in the MX-3. He is based out of Spartanburg, SC.
NO. You cannot put a GLC engine in your MX-3. This thing had a full tube frame and was Rear wheel drive. The only Stock MX-3 parts I saw were the taillights.
How did he do?
- Well, he was WAY up in the field after qualifying ( like 5th or 6th out of 45 cars ) but he broke a suspension part one the first lap after the green flag. He was running with RX-7's an 240Z's that were bad-*** .
Okay-- now for the pics!

Great pics, it's the 1st race mx3 I saw, after Marcos Acosta's drag car. Which is also tube frame rear wheel drive. Of coarse it has a completely diff setup: rotary I believe and last time I saw him he was running single digits at the track. :) I wish I could do that
